Seattle Mortgage Rates Today 8/22/12: “Mortgage Bonds, can you hear me now?”  Mortgage Bonds seem to be climbing from the depths of no return.  Investors found their way back to the safe haven trade of bonds as news of Apple shares reflected a downgrade along with Dell readjusted their forecast lower.  Bonds were positively affected as weak economic data out of Japan was released.  Be wary as volatility in the market is still rampant and anything can change the sentiment quickly.

“The 3rd coming of Quantitative Easing…”  With the Fed minutes released from the last meeting, the sentiment remains that the economy is sluggish.  The pace at which our economy is strengthening is still too slow; stimulus will most likely be needed unless there is something that would say otherwise.  The minutes definitely push the envelope towards more easing but the improvement in data is still not strong enough to support the idea that our economy is on the up and up.  September may bring us another round of stimulus…
