Seattle Mortgage Rates Today 8/23/12: “It’s about time, Mr. Bonds!”  Release of the Federal Reserve minutes form the most recent meeting, not surprisingly, stated that the housing market remains sluggish and economic activity has continued on its path of slowdown.  Weak global economic conditions are also giving bonds a much needed boost.  Stocks are rallying lower as investors sell-off and take gains from the past week or so.

Believed to be speculation, the Fed minutes also disclosed that some sort of stimulus will take place which may be revealed in September’s meeting.  As investors delve into the Fed minutes, they will only find that the economy is not gaining strength as was earlier thought.  Globally speaking, economic data coming from China and Europe was reported as weak.
