Seattle Mortgage Rates Today 8/24/12

Seattle Mortgage Rates Today 8/24/12: Not much to report today.  Although bonds opened slightly higher this morning in an attempt to hold to the gains—albeit small—prices remain relatively unchanged from yesterday.  Talk of additional stimulus from Fed Chair Ben Bernanke in order to boost the US economy was stated in a letter to a congressional oversight panel.

The annual economic symposium will take place in Jackson Hole, Wyoming.  Both the European Central Bank President Mario Draghi and Fed Chair Bernanke will speak.  The ECB continues its talk about a bond-buying program to assist Spain and Italy’s climbing bond yields.  What do they have in mind?  The answer won’t likely come before the September 6th policy meeting of the European Central Bank.
