Seattle Real Estate Mortgage Rates Today 12/15/10

Seattle / Bellevue Real Estate Mortgage Rate Watch: The Federal Reserve yesterday stood firm saying it will move forward with Quantitative Easing 2 of $600 Billion buying program. This pushed stocks to the highest levels in two years. This being the result the Feds want comes at the expense of Bonds which were under tremendous pressure yesterday. Pushing Mortgage Rates to Highs not seen in the last 24 months.

With more optimism in the Stock market investors are now selling their positions in Bonds which adds even more fuel to rates moving higher. At this time it will be tough for bonds to make a recovery, BUT there may be hope. Looking over trends in the last two years, at the end of each year bonds do sell off because of so much activity in the stock market. What we are hoping for is bond buying to happen again in the January like past performance. If bonds to become to oversold investors will re-invest funds to look for buying opportunities. Only time will tell.
