Seattle Real Estate Mortgage Rates Today 6/28/11

Seattle Real Estate Mortgage Rates Today 6/28/11: The first rise in the Case Shiller home index in 8 months has the stock market trading higher which has pressured bonds to sell of moving mortgage rates slightly higher. Even with some good news from housing the market remains focused on the outcome of the vote in Greece to embrace a plan for the bailout or face default.

So far the news in Greece has helped the bond market as investors seek the “Safe Haven” trade of the United States. Here is the news still to come, although Greece has come out to work on their problems, inside of the Euro still remains Spain, Ireland, Portugal and Italy. All still facing the same outcome of Greece. This will for sure bring more volatiltity to the future market as each country begins to spill the beans on debt problems.

Swithing gears back to the U.S. today at 10:00 AM PT we have $35 Billion in 5 Year note auctions which always have an impact on the mortgage rates. Yesterday we had a poor perfomance in 2 year auctions which pressured rates slightly higher.
