Seattle Mortgage Rates Today 8/28/12

Seattle Mortgage Rates Today 8/28/12: “What’s everyone waiting for?”  The markets are seeing some very light activity as they maintain a “let’s wait and see what happens” approach.  With Fed Chair Ben Bernanke delivering his speech on monetary policy this Friday, markets obviously do not know what to expect.  Yesterday, the stock market saw its lightest volume in trading this year.  Mortgage bonds experienced the same with the Fed purchasing what little was coming to market.  Rates and prices remain relatively unchanged for yet another day.

Although speculation is strong regarding the announcement of another round of easing by the Fed, the bigger question is when it will be implemented.  Global news is assisting that decision as Japan lowered its expectation for economic growth stating the demand for Japanese imports by China and the US is waning.
