Mortgage bonds have received positive support this morning because of the weak home sales report.  June’s home sales numbers were revised below expectations and July was below expectations.

The agreement was to start tapering QE3 in the fall of this year, but some FOMC members said the US data will determine when the tapering will start.  Each time the market hints the tapering will start, mortgage rates jump up so plan in advance.
